Shag sells an immaculate collection of edgy vintage and must-have modern clothes for ladies, and a little for gents too. There are amazing finds waiting to be discovered here, including new and vintage shoes, handbags, designer scarves, retro sunglasses and collectible fashion pieces from decades gone by. There are exquisite silk pieces from current designer Tsumori Chisato strewn in amongst vintage Missoni skirts and fine silk blouses, that make you hold your breathe in anticipation of what's next on the rack.
Products are sourced globally and come mainly from Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and the US.
Grant Francis and Jeremy Valentine opened their first Shag store in Melbourne in August 1996. The pair first met at V.C.A (art school) where Grant majored in painting and Jeremy printmaking. In 1991 they began a textile design business, designing prints for fabrics used in fashion manufacturing. Shag began as a product fo their passion for vintage textiles and has grown to four stores (three in Melbourne and one in Sydney).
